I love working with projects that intermingle history, mythology/religion and culture.
Being Brazilian, born in Salvador (the city with the largest number of Afro-descendants outside Africa), Candomblé and Orishas were part of my daily life.
My African heritage comes from the slaves brought from Africa by the Portuguese. With them, came their culture, music, oral tradition and symbolism. Their ancient knowledge was transmitted through stories and music. Despite the violence throughout the centuries, African culture survived in Brazil. We can now record those valuable tales and fascinating chants so that future generations can receive this immeasurable legacy.
